From the Committee for Syria in Argentina 07/05/2012

To the workers and the fighting workers and students’ organization of the world, and to everyone that fight and are in favor of the Syrian revolution:

For an International Committee in Support to the Syrian Masses
Over a year passed since the working class, the exploited and Syrian people have started their revolution against the murderous regime of Al Assad. More than six months have passed of massacres and genocides carried on by the army of Al Assad, on behalf of imperialism and NATO, together with the ruling powers and Zionism, the support of the regional governments (as Iran) and the complicity of the Arab League. All of them have focused their strengths in Syria to stop the chain of revolutions for bread and freedom opened in the North of Africa and Middle East. This chain of revolutions had its spark in Tunisia, and immediately spread to Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain and Syria itself.

This genocide against the oppressed people has cost over 70.000 lives in full view of everyone. A proof of this are the bombings in workers districts of Homs, Deraa, the massacre of Hula, Alepo and Homs, the murders house by house; families slaughtered by the Al Assad mercenaries. This massacre has the political and material support of the so-called Bolivarian governments in Latin America, like Kirchner in Argentina, Morales in Bolivia, Castro brothers in Cuba and Chavez in Venezuela, who keeps sending him oil barrels. Despite this, and the huge silence of a great strip of the world left, which keeps shooting in the back of the Syrian exploited, freeing the hands to Al-Assad to keep slaughtering; the workers and the Syrian people don’t surrender, and keep resisting heroically with whatever they can use, and in this moment they are fighting against the troops in the outskirts of Damascus, keeping in suspense all the powerful ones of the world.

As well as Al Assad can’t break the heroic people resistance, the accomplice silence of those who call themselves “socialist”, didn’t prevent, and won’t prevent that from different sides of the planet, the masses and the revolutionaries who embrace and make as our own the fight of the Syrian people, will organize to break the fence imposed over the revolution, and to fight for the triumph of the revolution: like the masses of Lebanon are rebelling against Hezbollah (that sent mercenaries to Syria to slaughter the resistance, and in Lebanon pursue and kill the activists that cross the borders), as the masses of Tunisia (who organize by thousands to go to fight in Syria) as well as the revolutionary militias of Libya do. Like in the province of Hatay southern Turkey, where thousands people, despite obstacles and controls of the Turkey army, manage to supply the resistance. And as the German anti-imperialist youth, who with their campaign of “adopt a revolution”, have collected around 200 thousand Euros delivered by them in hands of the resistance organizations.

From the “Committee in support to the Syrian masses” in Argentina, we consider ourselves part of these actions that have the aim of breaking the fence imposed to the Syrian masses. We are a committee formed by students, workers, shop steward commissions, unemployed workers organizations, workers currents and left currents, that in March, before the call of the Libyan revolutionary militias to make all kind of actions in solidarity with the Syrian working class and the people slaughtered by the Al-Assad regime. After this call we held these actions: on March 24th, (when we commemorate the anniversary of the military coup in Argentina), we marched with banners denouncing the massacre and the complicity of Kirchner’s government with the murderer Al-Assad; we also held a debate talk where, by Skype we could communicate with the Libyan militiamen that told us how was their fight against Khadafy and now against the TNC. Then we organized a rally to the Syrian embassy in Buenos Aires (where tens of workers, students, and left organizations concurred), which was held on June 7th with a great militant effort amongst the fighting workers and students organizations, making that such rally was voted in the rank and file students assemblies and in the last Congress of the University Federation of Buenos Aires (FUBA) against those that didn’t lift a finger in defense of the Syrian masses. We know very well that, in face of the difficulties that today the Syrian people is affronting, the tasks that we’ve made were a great step forward, but aren’t enough.

The conditions in which the resistance of the Syrian masses is in this moment are extremely thought. The workers and the Syrian people have to sell all their goods to be able of getting supplies (weapons, medicines, food, etc.), that scarce everywhere. Doctors can’t cope with all the work attending thousands and thousands of wounded, improvising attention centers wherever they can, in inappropriate places, since hospitals and schools work as torture and extermination centers. Today more than ever, the Syrian people need the solidarity from workers and revolutionaries from all over the world, and also they need a centralization and international coordination of all those actions that are being held in their help to be able to make efficient the help to the resistance.

Because of this, is that we make an urgent call to all the workers and militant students organizations (unions, shop stewards commissions, student centers and militant students federations) of Argentina, Latin America and the entire world, and those that show solidarity and fight in favor of the Syrian revolution, to set up an International Committee in support of the Syrian masses in order to centralize all the help possible; where we can collect all kind of goods for the Syrian resistance: from medicine, food, cloth, money and volunteers to go to fight with them as they already do the Tunisian, Libyan and Palestine workers from their organizations, seeking the best channel so the help get in hands of those who risk their lives in the battlefield fighting against the regime and the army of Al Assad. We summon specially to those organizations that have already pronounced in this way, and already are doing so: the Revolutionary Fighters of the Libyan Militias, the Movements of Factories and Rank and File Assemblies of the Libyan workers, and the Volunteers Committee of internationalist workers of that country; the Movement 6th of April in Egypt that week after week mobilize alongside with thousands of youths to the Syrian and Zionist embassy against the slaughter against the Syrian people; the UGTT of Regueb (Tunisia) and the thousands of young Tunisians that organize themselves to got to fight in Syria; the ACES of the fighting Chilean students; the Japanese students Zengakuren; the Post Union of Porto Alegre (Brazil), who are now discussing to send a day’s wage to supply the Syrian resistance, as also happens in tens of Venezuelan unions, where there is also a proposal of preventing any ship of oil to Al Assad; to those that mobilized in United States before the White House, denouncing the responsibility of Obama in this genocide; we call all of you to make together this campaign in concrete and effective solidarity with the Syrian Revolution, and against Al-Assad’s massacre, commanded by Obama and the imperialists, and that together we fight to extend it to all the workers and students organizations, and fight to arise this International Committee of support to the Syrian Masses, and for the triumph of their revolution to centralize this fight! We must recover the best traditions of the internationalist solidarity, as in the Civil War in Spain, where the unions and workers organizations of the world sent medicines, weapons and volunteers to fight against fascism.
Comrades, there is no time to lose. Each minute that passes, without advancing it this way, it means hundreds and hundreds of lives and it gives time for the imposition of traps that the imperialism prepare to expropriate the heroic fight of the Syrian people; like they want to do with the so-called Syrian National Council and the Free Syrian Army, discussing with the UN a supposed “transition government”; or preparing a military intervention, as they have already pronounced France and Belgium, to stop Al Assad be overthrown by the revolutionary masses. We, the workers, the fighting youth, all of those who fight against the massacre and for the triumph of the revolution, and all the exploited ones must be the ones that from our organizations of fight aid our Syrian comrades before it is too late.

July 1 Libya: the electoral trap

"THE DEMONSTRATION WENT INTO THE CITY AND BURNT ALL THE PAPERS"
Today was the mobilization we talked about in the previous mail. The organizers said and clarified all the time that they were not federalist, but stood against that 102 seats were for Tripoli, 60 for Benghazy and 38 for the South and called for allotting 20 (or 60, or whatever) for each one. They went even further and confronted the Government, because they said that all they managed to accomplish with the revolution was beheading the regime of Muhammar, but the rest (of his followers) stayed and today are in the Government and settled in the West, so going to a National Congress with absolute majority of the West above the other two regions together amounted to the total domination of the Qadafistas.
That’s why their program is bordering federaliyah, although they clarify all the time that they are not the Feds. In fact the Federal movement is different and they do not have political agreement. We will tell you the facts and the characterizations we could draw (try to distinguish between each other, as in the characterizations we could be mistaken). The march began at the roundabout of Majouri district in Benghazy, where during a couple of days protests were made to give back the vote card if one was opposed to the National Congress. There was a concentration where about 300 people gathered who cut off the street with posters and slogans, and then came the march.
Now, all demonstrations here come out of the place in front of the Tibesty hotel (one of the two best hotels of Benghazy, which is hosting the CNT when it is here) and go to the Liberation Square. Therefore it was believed that the march was going to start from the Tibesty, but no! It went to the center of the Electoral Commission (which was quite far away), which is the building where the information of the elections is, voter registration lists, organization, etc. On the way more and more people joined, until it reached 1000 people (remember that Benghazy is a city of 1 million inhabitants, and women and children are not involved). Everytime the march passed by next to posters of candidates to the National Congress in the present elections, they were plucked out by the demonstrators.

The march came to the polling place and set fire to all the papers and destroyed the computers that had been in place. The objective: preventing the elections from taking place. We noticed many slogans that were sung against the Government and elections, but there were also many in favor of the the federaliyah. And saw many federalists in the march (remember that the Feds do not have a direct link to the bourgeoisie, although they have almost all of its program based on the fair feeling that having them made the revolution, they do not want that Tripoli dominates them again).

The march then returned to the same place from where they had started, always unpinning every election poster that was at sight. But to leave the place it was not known if we had to return to the roundabout or go to the Tibesty. Now, in front of the Tibesty is the tent of the Feds, and that place is the typical place of the protests. The vast majority returned to the roundabout, and they clarified that they will be there all day with the protest that they were doing in that place, and the day that the polls are held, ranging to boycott them and prevent them from happening at all, at all costs (remember that almost all people here are armed; even, unlike other mobilizations, this many attended with their weapons.) (On the other hand the bourgeoisie does not count yet with a force of repression that could play to suppress them). Meanwhile in the Tibesty some federalists made a small blockade of streets, also in protest.
We believe that a sector of the masses ran through the bourgeois gaps attacking the Government and the elections (which is the bourgeois plan to strengthen the counter-revolution and its power), including considering a program of representatives elected by each neighborhood with mandate, with no majority for anybody. This sector -not the federalist bourgeoisie- was the promoter of the boycott of today and plan to move forward. But what is crystal clear is that the federalist bourgeoisie sent part of its people to infiltrate the mobilization and they themselves were placed at the head to try to stop it or contain it or divert it and use it, because they tried to paint the march as if it were a federalist action. There is even a candidate who withdrew his candidacy facing the events of today. But for us, the action was not encouraged by the bourgeoisie from its inception or controlled completely, because no bourgeois sector is opposed to elections or risks going to civil war actions, as the masses could break again.
So far, the newly elected Local Council in Benghazy condemned the actions and called for tomorrow in the Tibesty a protest against what happened today, considering that they agree with the federality, that it is all wrong about the inequality of seats, that they are against the Government, but “it is necessary to go into the elections to allow the country going forward”. The whole of the Benghazis see this as a betrayal, because all of them support the events of  today and condemn the local Council for opposing them.

Words on the demonstration for the Syrian masses in Argentina

D., a student member of the Committee in Support of the Syrian Masses in  Argentina

Comrades, my name is D. and I am part of the Committee for Syria. This Committee was formed because of the declaration of the comrades from Tripoli who called for international actions to denounce the al Assad massacre and in support of the Syrian comrades. Very few of us joined this appeal.
There are currents that claim to be on the workers’ side and "left fronts" which in their vast majority say they are with the workers, but when you have to fight they prefer to continue fighting for a seat in the Parliament, rather than fighting side by side in an international struggle in favor of  the working class.
National Trotskyist and Social Democratic parties, which say they are for the "socialist revolution" in their discussions of internal committees or during meetings with their comrades they do not mention such a historical massacre against working people in Syria. The same comrades speak of repression -but they ignore the massacre the entire people of Syria is living today. The same comrades who speak in the name of "socialism" instead of defending it, stay quiet while negotiating a seat in the provincial legislature.

Comrades, we must join the Committee for Syria and defend the comrades who are being massacred.
The Cristina (Kirchner, N.Ed.) Government which have relationships with the massacrers sends the federal police to “say hello" to us and say "I`m going on with the imperialism, the ones that repress and massacre."

So comrades, we must go on militating about what is happening in Syria. It is a revolution that is being slaughtered. Either all the organizations and comrades start fighting together in favor of our class comrades or the revolution will be lost and fascism will be imposed.
So comrades, thanks for coming to the act and continue fighting for Syrian people and our class comrades. Thanks

David Soria, on behalf of Paty Workers Commission.

Comrades, I have the honor to be here with you, young students, some parties and internal committees, and to be part of the international working class.
What we propose is that we can help from this International Commission of factory workers comitting us to participate in this campaign, and that's what we were doing in the Committee in Support of the Syrian Masses in Argentina.
We must take this campaign everywhere, we have to call all internal committees, and unions recovered from the bureaucracy, combative sectors, and raise up the working class in a campaign going to all the layers of workers to break down the siege (that the false friends of the workers have mounted, N.Ed.) within the own working class, comrades.
For the unity of the working class! Thanks, comrades,

Walter Montoya, a leader of  Democracia Obrera (Workers Democracy)

Good evening, comrades. We are finally here. And as you see the Bolivarians are the escorts of the fascists of Al-Assad. Not only Chavez sells them oil but also Kirchner with his murderous police takes care of them so that we cannot reach the door of the Syrian Embassy.
They all know very well that in North Africa and Middle East there are not mere mobilizations or revolutions "for democracy." They know very well that the masses are fighting for bread and in their fight for bread the exploited masses have opened a chain of worker and socialist revolutions throughout North Africa and Middle East, which by the hand of the Greek exploited threatens to enter the heart of imperialist Europe.
Today these Menemist rats of the Syrian-Lebanese bourgeoisie, guarded by Al-Assad’s police that is the same Kirchner’s police in Argentina, accuse us of being supporters to imperialism. That same slander was raised by the World Social Forum and all its organizations worldwide accusing the Libyan people of being armed by imperialism. This calumny was destroyed by the Libyan masses themselves who made murderous Qaddafi’s head roll down. Precisely this slander had the objective of isolating the Libyan masses, its aim was politically enclosing the Syrian working class and exploited masses so Al-Assad, on behalf of imperialism, the whole Arab League and the Zionist rats of the fascist state of Israel, could massacre the greatest vanguard that raised up in Middle East to continue the Palestinian struggle. They are the slaughtered Syrian masses of Homs, Deraa, Damascus, and Idlib that once again raise up and do not surrender.

This is what make them go crazy, this is what fill them with despair. They were waiting for the surrender of the exploited; but there is no surrender here because the masses have conquered the conditions for fighting. Nobody gave them the conditions as a gift.
From Europe, form USA and the rest  of the Americas they told us that “there are no conditions” for marching  for Syria. But the masses, in the worst of situations, beside common graves full of their beloved ones, stood up again and went on fighting from the debris of the bombed working class neighborhoods.  This stubborness of the Syrian masses is the reality that obliges imperialists to prepare with the help of the UNO, Hu Jintao, Putin and the Arab League each time a superior massacre.
Though, comrades, Beware! Because once al Assad has done the “dirtiy job”, imperialism willo try to enter Syria with the UNO. We cannot allow it to do that. We already know them. We aready know how they act. They are tose which have worked always as caretakers of the Zinost borders, beccause they are afraid, very afraid that the Palesinian masses turn again to the streets, burn once more the police stations of Fatah and Hamas, arming themselves and sweeping away the Zionist State of Israel for good.
Because today the siege was broken in the north of Syria, from Hatay, -which is an old Syrian province that since 1939 is in the hands of Turkish imperialists- and form Lebanon, with the insurrectin and the revolts of the masses.
The siege we are not breaking it here: it has began to be broken by the masses, as for example the 400 mosques in Tunisia that have sent their youth with the Quran under their armpits to combat in Syria; or the Libyan exploited in Bengazhi, Tripoli and Misratah that did not wait for anyone to act and armed the militas and the international brigades sending them to fight in Syria, as happened in the ‘30s in the Spanish Civil War.
That’s why it is a shame that the international worker brigadas aren’t yet standing up, organizad as they were for example in argentina in the ‘30s, when comrades of the bakers union travelled to Sapin with nurses and Money, in support of the struggle against Franco’s fascism. What are we waiting for, that we don’t carry just now this motion to the working class?
Because what unifies us, the world’s exploited, to fight alongside the Syrian masses is not merely the struggle against imperialism. That is a common notion that we share, they are the same massacrers there and here. But in the same way that in the 19th Century we were united by an international fight for the 8 hours, today in order to conquer bread, what unifies us is the fight for the worker and socialist revolution, so that the working class seizes the power.
Thanks, comrades.

Statement for the mobilization/demonstration to the Syrian embassy in Argentina

From the revolutionary internationalist militias of Libya we salute the public meeting of the Argentinean workers and their mobilization to the embassy of Syria to defeat the carnage carried on by murderous Al-Assad.
In Libya the militia men, students and workers marched and set on fire the Syrian embassy on February in Benghazi while the murderous troops of Al-Assad were slaughtering in Homs. That is why the Syrian embassy closed and the ambassador ran like a rat. We expelled him, as we enjoy taking justice in our own hands giving Qadafy the assassin what he deserved.
From here we organized brigades which fought side by side with the oppressed people of Syria, facing the agent of the ruling powers: Bashar Al-Assad; he was receiving arms from Putin and Hu Jintao and is supported by Chavez, Castro and other Bolivarian governments.
Not only we, the exploited people and militia men of Libya, are letting our martyrs on the streets of Homs, Hama and Deraa and fighting alongside the exploited people of Syria. The Egyptian workers were the first ones in marching over the Syrian embassy while shouting: “Assad you will have the same fate as Muammar (Khadafy)! and “US, NATO, Assad and Hezbollah are the caretakers for guarding the borders of Zionism!”

This is how from the heart of the working class that started the revolution in Northern Africa and Middle East we started breaking the silence imposed by most of the forces who claim to be “left”, “popular”, etc at world level. Since January they are turning the blind eye and have done nothing to support our class brothers and sisters of Syria, allowing Bashar Al-Assad to kill them mercilessly.
But despite them, workers all over the world are breaking the fence mounted against the Syrian masses with the brigades that we are sending from Libya to fight there; with the fighters organized by hundreds in the mosques in Tunisia who are joining the Syrian resistance; with the masses of Hatay in Turkey who supply the needs of the Syrian exploited, refugees as well as fighters that are recovering there; also the US workers and youth who marched in USA against Obama who is Bashar’s boss; from the workers in Lebanon who rebelled supporting the Syrian people, against Hezbollah that supports Al-Assad like the Iranian Ayatollahs.

Demostration "Stop the slaughter in Syria! Out Al Assad! Committee for Syria"

That is why we salute this day of fight in Argentina, which matches the call made by workers organizations who recently also met in Tunisia.
It is important, and it’s always timely, to join forces to rebel the world working class in order to stop the imperialist hand that supports its lackey Al-Assad who is slaughtering the oppressed people of Syria.
The road for fighting alongside the Syrian people is already clear. All people need is decision to follow that road. That is why from Tripoli, Benghazi and Misratah, and also from the refugee camps in Turkey and Lebanon in the Syrian borders, we are waiting the adhesions and effective solidarity from all the worker organizations of the world.
Honoring the martyrs, we call all the worker organizations around the world to collect money, medicines and food and send doctors, nurses to the refugee camps and to help the Syrian resistance, and mainly to send international brigades to fight side by side with the Syrian masses and defeat Bashar.

We have to stand up side by side with our brothers and sisters of Syria. They are also slandered by the same ones who affirmed that we, the Lybian workers who gave our lives confronting Qadafy, were servants of imperialism. It is said by those who speaking in the name of workers and “anti-imperialism” guard the “left” pocket of the Wall Street bankers. They are those who like Chavez, sent oil to supply the war machine of Al Assad. How excellent the resolution of the Deraa militias is about transforming in battle-target the firends of fascism, the bolivarian ships containing oil entering the port of Syria to supply the tanks of Al-Assad the killer.

Our struggle in the North of Africa and Middle East is the same fight as that of the workers of USA, Europe, Latin America and the five continents to stop the attack through which the imperialists try to throw over us all the crisis of the capitalist system in bankruptcy.
As it happened in Libya with us, the Syrian exploited have not been armed by any general who claims to be “democratic” that deserted Al Assad’s army but today is hidden in Qatar.
The weapons to defend themselves from the massacre were conquered by the Syrian masses, their children, their  husbands, their relatives passing to the exploited’s side in order to fight Al Assad. They sell their possessions to gain weapons and ammunitions to confront the troops of Bashar the killer. We, the exploited who supply them from Libya, Lebanon, Turkey, Palestine, are doing the same for the heroic resistance fighters in Homs, Deraa and the entire Syria for them to win.
We know very well that the only agents of imperialism in the streets of Syria are Al-Assad’s troops; neither the Arab League, the Syrian National Council, the UN nor NATO are confronting Bashar. All the contrary, they are all waiting for Al Assad’s finishing to crush the Syrian masses.

As yesterday we saluted and sent our greeting to the demonstration of over 10,000 workers and youth in Washington, today we are with you in Argentina greeting those comrade workers, youth, oppressed, who are resisting alongside the Syrian masses and we take as ours what the Tripoli dockworkers expresed so fairly in their assembly on April 24th: “Today in Libya we need another revolution, and if we have to carry out 10 revolutions, we will do it. And if we need 20 revolutions in Libya and Syria, we will do it too. Either we live well or we die fighting for it. Let it be known by all the managers, bosses and chiefs: we will not rest till we get our demands; and if we have to close the dock preventing the entry and departure of goods, we will do it; and if we have to go out with our riffles to settle accounts with all the bosses, we will also do it. We will not give away our martyrs’ blood.”

Solidarity with the Syrian exploited people!
Long live the Syrian revolution!
Down with Bashar al-Assad!
That the Mediterranean Sea is set on fire! Death to imperialism! Let’s smash Zionism! The Palestinian banner must be placed in its capital: in the Jerusalem recovered by the oppressed rebelling in Maghreb and Middle East!

URGENT MOTION FROM THE DOCK WORKER ASSEMBLY IN TRIPOLI, IN LIBYA, TO ALL THE WORKER AND STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS OF THE WORLD

SO THAT THIS MAY DAY WE CAN MAKE IT INTO AN INTERNATIOANAL FIGHTING DAY OF THE WORKING CLASS AND THE EXPLOITED ONES AND IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR CLASS BROTHERS IN SYRIA, WHO ARE SUFFERING THE SLAUGHTERING OF AL ASSAD ARMY AND THE OPPRESSION FROM IMPERIALISM

“This call is reproduced by the comrades of the Syria Commissionn of ACES (High School Student Assembly TN) who have met during the last weeks. In this way, the proposal that we do is to extend it in particular tomorrow, May Day, ACES support it and publish this fighting call. This call attempt to prevent to take the internationalist revolutionary sharp out of this May Day, recalling the Chicago martyrs, today represented by our revolutionary brothers and sisters of Syria.”

Adhering ACES –Metropolitan Region in its assembly on Monday 30 pf April 2012.

Statement of the Tripoli (Libya) dockworkers on the International May Day

We, the dockworkers of Tripoli port, want to voice our unconditional support for the Syrian masses. We call on them to follow our steps, defeating Bashar al-Assad as we defeated Mua'ammar al-Qadafy by fighting physically to confront the army till defeating it, accompanied by prayer. As for us, we would give our blood and also our eyes for a victorious revolution in Syria as well as in Libya, Tunisia and all around the region.
This revolution is one single revolution all over the entire region. Libya was the place where this revolution reached a further level, the revolution in Tunisia and Egypt has to reach there too. But now we see that we need another revolution in Libya.
All the revolutions carried out by workers (like those in France in the 19th C, or in Russia in early 20th C, or these ones in the Arab countries) are for need. There is no food; no decent housing, and no decent salary, so, workers carry out revolutions to solve it.
Today in Libya we need another revolution, and if we have to carry out 10 revolutions, we will do it. We will not give away our martyrs’ blood.
We welcome all of them who for this May 1st get organized to fight alongside the worker revolutions of Libya and Syria, we salute those who raise the demands of the workers. In Libya it’s difficult to convene an event for this day since we have suffered a dictatorship of 42 years that only allowed official meetings organized by the Qadafists and this is the first time we get organized on our own.
But we know that in Tunisia for this May Day, some meetings have been organized. We also know that this meeting is not calling to do something for our brothers and sisters in Syria –actually, it is for doing nothing- or for us or the revolution across the region. We call on you for not leaving all these struggles isolated, as all of us need coordinating the combats of Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Syria. We need to coordinate with the workers in Tunisia to advance in our own organization and combat, and for them also to advance in their fights and in the struggle for fighting alongside the Syrian exploited. The revolution is not only taking place in Tunisia. There, the revolution has started -when an engineer sacrificed himself -that we are carrying out here in Libya; and this revolution, which is all over the region- has today the urge of taking a step forward.
We salute and welcome all those who got organized last year to support the combats we launched here in Libya and that today keep fighting for the victory of the revolution in Syria and all across the region. This is the way to get a decent life for all the workers.

General Assembly of Tripoli dockworkers

Proposal of the Venezuelan- Revolutionary Socialist Current (CSR- El Topo Obrero)

We endorse the call of militant solidarity of the Libyan militias

May 5th, 2012

From the Revolutionary Socialist Current (CSR- El Topo Obrero) we salute the public meeting held this May Day with different organizations, among them the UGTT (Tunisia), PCOT, UIT-CI and others to debate on the situation on Syria and approach the task of solidarity with the fight of the Syrian masses.

On this day, our organization is holding a public meeting with union and political leaders, where we will raise the banners of militant solidarity with the fight of the Syrian masses. Today such solidarity is expressed in supporting the militias who don’t surrender before the TNC. Today, being internationalist means raising the banners against the murderous regime of Al-Assad who is supported by imperialism. That is why we endorse the call published by the Revolutionary Combatants of the Libyan Militia and the Internationalist Volunteer Worker Committee of Libya, where they call to several political organizations that are attending to the public meeting (mentioned above) to call immediately and organize a forceful action supporting the Syrian masses, considering that there, in that public meeting, are represented thousands of Tunisian and world workers.

The militiamen say: “…In your call you denounce those who gathered a month ago in Tunisia to support the imperialist plan in Syria and correctly denounce those who supported Ben Ali and the dictators of the REGION with money and weapons. For the same reason comrades, your meeting (even if you haven’t invited us to unite our forces in a common struggle) won’t be at the same level of the heroic fight of the Syrian masses unless it is put at the service of all worker organizations for collecting money and weapons for the Syrian masses among the worker organizations of Tunisia and the world. This is what the “friends” of the dictators of the region did and it is what we have to do with our friends, the exploited people of Syria…” We endorse this call to put the tools of fight, all the forces gathered by us, the revolutionaries at world level, as we represent hundreds of thousands workers, all our political weapons, at the service of the militant solidarity towards the masses who are fighting against Al-Assad. Solidarity means calling Tunisian Trade Union to call actions in the streets to develop workers and popular force, to break the fence and isolation that want to be imposed to the Syrian masses who have been slaughtered but who are resisting and waiting international support.

From Venezuela we, the CSR-El Topo Obrero, have been defending the banners of the unity of the working class at national and international level, to resist the fierce attack of the world exploiters who, before such economic crisis insist on making us, the ones who produce the wealth, pay the cost of the imperial policies. Masses resistance to the capitalist voracity in Europe, Middle East, North of Africa, USA, Latin America –among others- has red hot places that show the way forward of the fight and how to unify it, and how to empower forward to the construction of socialism. The task of the empire is preventing such unification of wills over the base of common proposals; that why the empire is trying to keep the workers of the world divided, preventing that the defense of the Syrian masses’ fight be taken as what it is: the center of the confrontation of the world working class against international capitalism.

… “…In the meetings and rallies of this May Day peoples are fighting while they vote resolutions to redouble the fight from May 2nd on. Therefore we propose to call together to set up an International Committee comprising all the worker combat organizations that are really for the defeat of the dominant powers and the exploiting national bosses to ensure the arrival of weapons, medicine, ammunition, and arms that carry them on so that our brothers and sisters in Syria succeed and can throw down Assad, because if we have effectively the will nothing can stop us. You are well aware that if we want it, nothing can prevent it. We insist, there’s no time to lose…”

For an unitarian public meeting to coordinate the effective fight with our brothers and sisters fo Syria!
